UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time, the handles on your doors will get worn out and need to be changed. It is crucial to match the dimensions of the window handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently to the lever type handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handle types can either operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are generally employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in many variations & styles.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200,000 cycles and are available in various finishes like White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to rust. This provides the handle with a high performance and durability for the purpose it was designed for.

All UPVC handle lever pads come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a larger handle, which can often be a benefit in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have a spring, which solves the issue of door handles that move out of the horizontal position when not being used.

It is important to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement may also be called 'handle centre or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.

For instance, doors that are external should be fitted with a higher security cylinder, while internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can increase security, like anti-drill or anti bump properties.

To make sure that the euro door handles cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. This simple feature is one of the best ways to correct this issue and is an effective way to keep your upvc doors from getting stuck in an open or closed position, since they aren't always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a spring multipoint locks. They will not fit unsprung handles, and you will have to cut a hole in your backplate for them to fit.
