After a series of social media posts that hint at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an unidentified artist and inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material that was delivered to the International Space Station for research purposes.

After weeks of social media posts hints, luxury automobile maker Lamborghini finally announced its first project involving non-fungible tokens (NFT). The project is dubbed the Space Key, it consists of five physical items that unlock an exclusive digital artwork NFT created by an unidentified artist. The project was developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm), the 'collector's piece' is limited to five units and will be auctioned off shortly.

The core of each Space Key is a block made of the most advanced carbon fire composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research program. After returning to Earth, it was made into a QR code that links it to the digital component of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space lambo keys will feature a separate moment that occurs a few seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. More than 600 million pixels make each of the five images which were captured by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera, which took each of the individual shots, which were then merged into the final image. The result is a photo that is completely out of the world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic view of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off soon, but the exact date and time of the auction haven't yet been revealed yet.
